Q: How do I play TileSwappy?
TileSwappy is a visual puzzle game where you arrange 9 tiles to recreate a complete image. Click two tiles to swap their positions, and click and drag tiles left or right to rotate them. Q: What types of puzzles are available?
TileSwappy features multiple puzzle types including smooth color gradients, photographs, and artistic images. Each puzzle type challenges your pattern recognition and visual perception in different ways, keeping the game fresh and engaging.
Q: Is there a time limit?
No! Take as much time as you need to solve each puzzle. While your completion time is tracked for scoring purposes, there's no pressure or countdown timer forcing you to rush. Play at your own pace and enjoy the puzzle-solving experience.
Q: Can I play previous puzzles?
Yes! All puzzles remain accessible in our archive. Unlike daily puzzle games that lock you into a schedule, TileSwappy lets you play any puzzle at any time. Browse past puzzles, replay favorites, or catch up on ones you missed.
Q: How do I know if tiles are correctly placed?
When adjacent tiles are correctly positioned and rotated, their edges will match perfectly creating a seamless visual transition. You'll see the gradient or image flow naturally from one tile to the next. When all 9 tiles are correct, the complete image will be revealed.
💾 Account & Progress
Q: Do I need to create an account?
No account required! TileSwappy works immediately without any registration or login. Your progress and statistics are saved locally on your device, so you can start playing right away.
Q: Why did I lose my progress?
Your game data is stored in your browser's local storage. Progress can be lost if you clear your browser data/cache, use incognito/private browsing mode, switch browsers or devices, or uninstall and reinstall the app. To prevent this, avoid clearing browser data for TileSwappy.
Q: Can I sync progress across devices?
Currently, each device maintains its own separate progress since data is stored locally. There's no cloud sync feature at this time. We're exploring account-based syncing for future updates.
Q: How are statistics calculated?
Your stats track total puzzles completed, average solve times, best times, and other performance metrics. All calculations are done locally on your device and are never shared or uploaded to our servers.

Q: Are there different difficulty levels?
Puzzles vary naturally in difficulty based on the image complexity and gradient patterns. Some puzzles with distinct features are easier to solve, while subtle gradients provide more challenge. All puzzles use the same 3x3 grid format.
Q: Can I get hints?

Q: Does TileSwappy work offline?
Once a puzzle loads, you can complete it offline. However, you'll need an internet connection to load new puzzles and to display advertisements that support the free service.

Q: Why isn't the game loading?
Try these troubleshooting steps: check your internet connection, refresh the page (F5 or Cmd+R), clear your browser cache, try a different browser, or disable browser extensions that might interfere. If issues persist, visit our support page.
Q: The tiles won't move or rotate. What's wrong?
Make sure you're clicking directly on tiles (not between them). For swapping, click one tile then click another. For rotating, click and drag left or right on the tile. If controls become unresponsive, try refreshing the page.
Q: Can I play on mobile?
Absolutely! TileSwappy is fully responsive and works great on phones and tablets. Use tap to select/swap tiles and swipe left/right to rotate them. The interface adapts to your screen size for the best experience.
